angular rock, roughly the size of cobbles (64mm – 256mm at intermediate axis), were placed along a section of eroding bank of Murray Creek, located within Murray Creek Farms private property, co-owned by Vern Reimer. Rock armouring was placed along a 30m section of eroding bank to protect Murray Creek Farms property but also to reduce sediment input into Murray Creek. It is anticipated over time that water and air-bourn sediments will accumulate within the blast rock and eventually support riparian vegetation that will provide shade, cover for fish and overhanging vegetation, the latter a potentially important source of terrestrial insect drop, often significant food sources for rearing Chinook Salmon, Rainbow Trout and other fish species known to occur in Murray Creek.
