BDAs and Chinook (2025)

NEWSS in conjunction with DFO and Spruce City Wildlife Association, tagged and released 2000 total Chinook fry into Clear Creek and Knight Creek. The goal of the project is to be able to understand timing and successes.  The project includes monitoring (PIT tag recording stations and in-stream assessments) to record their in and out migration around BDAs and natural beaver dams.

There is evidence of natural beaver activity in the upper sections of Clear Creek, and even though the activity looks destructive, it could result in providing habitat for fish if the beavers are successful in establishing ponds.
